Remote graphics need a reason.

Name the application, transport, display expectation, dependency, and fallback.

What MobaXterm documents.

Mobatek describes an embedded X server based on X.org and X11 forwarding through SSH. Its documentation says the DISPLAY value can be redirected automatically in an SSH session, with X11 traffic routed through the existing SSH channel and eligible for compression.

That is a capability statement, not a promise that every graphical application, network path, graphics extension, or latency profile will suit a team’s workload.

Use a fit check.

  1. Identify the GUI. Record the application and the operator task it enables.
  2. Test the route. Observe responsiveness on representative networks; do not claim zero latency.
  3. Check rendering needs. Note extensions, fonts, clipboard expectations, and display behavior.
  4. Keep a fallback. Document an alternate remote desktop, web UI, or command-line path when appropriate.
